I seem to enjoy reading Ether more and more each time.

I was especially struck by Ether 2:6-7 this time around.

6: As the Jaredites traveled across the water, they were directed continually by the hand of the Lord. We too can have that blessing, even when we are asked to do difficult, seemingly impossible things, like cross many waters. We are never alone.

7: The Lord didn't allow them to stop in the place where they first landed, because he wanted more for them, probably more than they wanted for themselves. He had preserved a choice land for them. We may be like that at times, content to settle for less than the Lord wants to give. Though we may not see the end, we can trust that the Lord does, that He loves us and wants so badly to bless us, that He is leading us all the time to something supremely beautiful.

  1. Ether's been a fav for me for years! I love the many ways we can apply their journey to our lives.
