They took off part of my tragus so they could take the cartilage & patch my eardrum.

Unfortunately I just won't be able to hear out of that ear for a couple of weeks.

Nathan & I went to see the Braves play in Philadelphi.

We got to sit in the 5th row behind the Braves dugout.

It was the most amazing & delightful thing.

 

And the Phillies recognized Chipper for his amazing career.

And they gave him a painting.

And all the meany Phillies fans stood & clapped for him.

I almost cried.

Conversation while driving through Dover:

 

Tim: Who wants their picture with the giant wrestler?

Katie: I do.

Tim: Really?
Katie: Yeah.

Tim: Do you have a camera?
Katie: Yep.

Tim: Okay.

 

So we altered our course,

stopped on the side of the road,

got honked at by people driving by,

and got some stellar pictures.

Had the sisters over for brunch: hootenanny, hashbrown casserole & bacon.

Southern cooking potluck after church: I brought barbecue chicken & cornbread.

I had a marvelous lunch out with Jonboy & Tim.

And I ate a cheeseburger with peanut butter on it.

And it was delicious and I loved it.

And the boys. And our fun time together.

Tonight was book club.

The book was The Night Circus.

So we all dressed in black, white & red

and ate circus food,

including caramel apples,

caramel corn

& chocolate mice.

the weather is such that we can live our lives with the windows open.

It's pretty much the best.

So my advice for you is not to stand outside for too long down near a river at night in sandals after it's rained for the last 3 days.

This picture shows 8 of the 18 mosquito bites I got on my left foot alone after standing outside for 2 hours on Friday night.

That doesn't even take into account the 10 on my other foot or 5 on my arm.

It's been a hard couple of days.

Today was a great day.

 

Sushi for dinner,

A great talk with a new friend who seems to really understand me,

Fun & friendly competition.

 

But sometimes you don't think to take pictures of the exciting stuff,

so all you have to show for it is a picture of a toad.

So I started making a to-do list everyday.

In a little notebook, each day I write down 5 things I want to accomplish that day.

It's been really effective so far.

Probably mostly because I love to cross things off a list.

I mean really, it doesn't get much better than that.

I've actually been going to the gym & using these weights that I've had hidden in the closet for the past year.

And it feels great.
